18.01.2006. ILH DELEGATION VISITS DEPUTY PRESIDENT OF R. CROATIAN GOVERNMENT MRS. JADRANKA KOSOR

ILH delegation lead by the Secretary General Prof. Zdravko Surlan had met today with the deputy president of R. Croatian government and Minter for Family, War-veterans and Intergeneration solidarity Mrs. Jadranka Kosor. The representatives of International League of Humanists have send to the Deputy President Kosor their gratitude for her presence and patronage of the World Congress of International League of Humanists on the topic “Humanism, World Peace and Globalisation”, held in October, 23 – 26, 2005 in Dubrovnik. They said that they are preparing Paper Collection of every presentation at the World Congress of the Humanists. The also informed her about the adopted Decisions at the Congress, such us: establishment of International University, about initiative to put Interuniversity Centre Dubrovnik and Andragoski Centar Zagreb under ILH wing. Prof.Dr Zijad Pasic, Minister of Education and Science of F B&H and President of Committee for Education and Science of International League of Humanists had presented to the Deputy President Decision about her Honorary President of the Committee for Protection of Children and Family from Abuse and Violence, which was adopted during the World Congress of the Humanists in Dubrovnik. The Decision emphasizes that Mrs. Kosor “had become in her own country famous as a firm fighter for dignity and rights for those ones whose rights are violated or in any way forbidden. With her constant engagement to protect the rights of weak one she became protector, inciter of conscience of the sleepy officials which are obliged to protect dignity of every person. She became a person who can be trusted. She became a metaphor for truth and justice. She is a protector of children without families. Defender of family – from all the forms of abuse and violence – person of dialog”. Deputy President Kosor had send gratitude to the representatives of International League of Humanists for the given recognition. She underlined that in all of her future work, especially in fight against violence in families and children she will try to justify it in the opinion of protection of human rights. The members of International League of Humanists have asked from Deputy President Kosor to be patron for planed counselling assembly in Zagreb called “Protection of the Rights who’s Rights were Deprived”. They also have invited her to Sarajevo, the city which is since 1998 the Headquarter to International League of Humanists, which she had accepted.
